SAMPLE COORDINATOR/
LAB ASSISTANT

As the Sample Coordinator/Lab Assistant, you will be responsible for overseeing the sample management function of the laboratory, as well as other maintenance of the lab. At Veloxity, we hire driven and motivated individuals and provide training and career advancement opportunities within our organization. Essential daily job functions for this role include, but are not limited to: 

•    Receive, reconcile, and accession biological samples (plasma, tissues, etc.)

•    Record and maintain the traceability and security of samples

•    Ensure the cleanliness of the laboratory

•    Verify micropipettes and analytical balances

•    Treat and dispose of chemical and biological waste

•    Follow applicable standard operating procedures

•    Inventory chemicals and lab consumables and stock as needed

•    Work with sales team to coordinate shipments for conferences and events

Education and Experience

•    Associate or Bachelor Degree

•    High school diploma with relevant experiences considered

•    Experience working with specimen tracking and logistics is a plus

Desired Skills and Abilities

•    Positive attitude and willingness and capacity to learn

•    Excellent time and project management skills to work on several different projects simultaneously

•    Proficiency with pipetting or ability to learn

•    Effective listener and communicator

•    Able to document clearly and completely

•    Willingness to reconcile discrepancies and communicate with customers

•    Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn and utilize new software

Job Schedule

•    Part time or Full time. Our team is flexible and can accommodate a part-time workload for this role; if      

      necessary.

•    Full time: Monday – Friday day shift

•    Part time: Tuesday– Thursday day shift; half day on Friday

SENIOR SCIENTIST/PI

Veloxity Labs is looking for a senior-level scientist that can help take the company to the next level.Things are moving fast in this growing scientific organization and help with all the moving parts is needed.

​

  • Proficient in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation.

  • Ability to schedule and manage instrument usage, organize staff, and assign responsibilities to complete studies directives ahead of due dates.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors.

  • Coordinate with and advise study directors on experimental design and establish study objectives.

  • Train scientists and review performance on data analysis, sample preparation, and LC- MS techniques.

  • Develop and optimize sample preparation and analytical methods.

  • Perform method validation experiments.

  • Work with business development teams, QAU, and lab management to facilitate new projects.

  • Improve efficiency throughout the lab and ensure the highest level of data quality.

  • Promote industry awareness and scientific excellence of Veloxity Labs.

 

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a Ph.D. in chemistry/biochemistry) A Ph.D. in other scientific fields may require 2 years of LC- MS and/or bioanalytical CRO experience.

  • 2+ years of GxP experience is a plus.

ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST 1

Current

As an Associate Scientist 1, you will be using state-of-the art technologies to perform bioanalytical testing for emerging pharmaceutical and biopharma companies. At Veloxity, we hire driven and motivated individuals and provide training and career advancement opportunities within our organization. Essential daily job functions for this role include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Perform routine sample analysis using LC-MS/MS instrumentation

  • Train with senior staff to learn bioanalytical sample preparation techniques and operation of LC-MS/MS systems

  • Execute method validation experiments in a concise and timely manner

  • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the laboratory

  • Communicate project updates to principal investigator and management

  • Maintain electronic notebook and adhere to applicable organizational SOPs and GLPs

  • Review, interpret and analyze data for technical and scientific soundness

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in science (chemistry/biochemistry preferred) with 0-2 years of experience.

 

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent time and project management skills to work on several different projects simultaneously

  • Proficiency with pipetting and solution preparation

  • Ability to follow written protocols and develop clear and efficient documentation

  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

  • Willingness to learn practical techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems

  • Knowledge of equipment calibration and maintenance

  • Social media and networking
